Description:
Boo adopted us just before Halloween and was an outside tomcat. Little did he know that those days were definitely numbered if he wanted the comfort of a warm home and human companionship for the rest of his life. Welcome to the real world of a domestic cat my little black friend.

Thanks Fraida and Darlyne. He has become a very special part of our household and it's fun to watch his amazing repertoire of expressions as he discovers new things about his home. By the way the technical on this image is Canon 5D Mk II with an 85mm f1.8, 1/100 sec shot at ISO 3200 in natural light from a north window and some incandescent light from above.

I appreciate you posting the technical details as I am just in my infancy with photography! So much to learn but it is an adventure that I look forward to!!! :)
Tom Buchanan replied:
You are more than welcome. It's important to know your camera so that it becomes a part of you when you are shooting. When I teach, I teach 3 immutable rules. 1. read your manual and practice, 2. read your manual and practice, 3. read your manual and practice. It's amazing the results in the second class when students have taken the time to do that simple thing. I'm saying this because the moments like we see with Boo only last a few milliseconds and you need to be ready. The only way to be ready is to know your tools intimately and the results pay off enormously. Good luck Fraida and feel free to drop me a line if I can be of any help. - Tom

Marvelous capture -- his coloring is extraordinarily striking.
Tom Buchanan replied:
He is an extraordinary fellow indeed. Striking is his thing too. He loves to hide behind doors and grab your ankles whenever he can. Thanks again Rona.

Tom Buchanan replied:
Thanks again Darlyne. He is definitely settled in now and even tolerates Milton the big 130 lb puppy now.
